Angels on Assignment

How to pray today

  • Keep it short: pray for 3 to 5 minutes at most. A short prayer prayed with faith is enough.
  • Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the call and pray together. Every voice counts, so don't hold back.
  • Read the Scripture aloud, pray the prayer below, then add your own words for the day's theme.

Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.

Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)

Read more: Psalm 34:7; Hebrews 1:14

Pray

Lord of hosts, Your angels do Your word. Send them to guard and to serve those You are saving. Surround this church and this city.

Prayer guide · six targets

Read the Scripture aloud, speak the declaration together, then pray the specifics by name. Where a line says “name,” say the actual name out loud.

  1. Target 1

    Ministering spirits sent

the help God has already appointed for the heirs of salvation in this house.

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

    Hebrews 1:14 (NKJV)

Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.

    Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)

    Declare together

The angels are all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation. We are those heirs.

His angels excel in strength. They do His word, heeding the voice of His word.

    Pray it specific

    • Name the place where you need help beyond what people can give.
    • Name the Scripture you are speaking over that place. His angels heed His word.
    • Name the Lord as the One who sends. We pray to Him and to no one else.
  2. Target 2

    Charge over you

protection over our people on the roads, at work and at home.

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

    Psalm 91:11–12 (NKJV)

    Declare together

He gives His angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways.

In their hands they bear us up, lest we dash our foot against a stone.

    Pray it specific

    • Name everyone in your household and where they travel each day.
    • Name those who drive for a living, work nights or work in danger.
    • Name the trips coming up, with dates.
  3. Target 3

More with us than with them

eyes opened to see that we are not outnumbered.

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

    Psalm 34:7 (NKJV)

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

    2 Kings 6:16–17 (NKJV)

    Declare together

The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

  4. Target 4

    Sent because of your words

answers to prayer released, and what resists them broken.

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

    Daniel 10:12 (NKJV)

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.

    Declare together

From the first day we set our hearts to understand and to humble ourselves before our God, our words were heard.

Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts!

    Psalm 148:2 (NKJV)
